Our family dream started simply enough - a desire to grow wine grapes and embrace a more agrarian lifestyle for ourselves and our kids. We left the hectic pace of the Bay Area and Orange County in search of property where we could work the land. The Paso Robles area proved to be a fantastic match for everyone involved and perfect for pursuing our dream of winegrowing on California’s Central Coast. God sure has had an amazing way of shaping our lives. We thought we were moving to start a vineyard, but we have been blessed by a fantastic church home, wonderful schools, great jobs and a satisfying fulfilling life.
Everything on this property has our fingerprints on it, literally. Darrel and Bret helped design our homes, and they along with Bret’s dad, built the barn, the entry walls, the vineyard, the docks at the lake, and all the out-buildings. We like putting our personal touch and hard work into everything we do including the vineyards and wine.
Meet The People of Sunset Ridge Vineyards
Darrel Heirendt and Bret and Linda Stinson, along with their kids, are the people of Sunset Ridge Vineyards. The vineyard is run by Darrel and Bret with everyone chipping in throughout the year. Darrel is a vineyard manager for several north county vineyards, including the award winning Red Head Ranch.
